Every pair of Isabel Glanville trousers is wholly one of a kind. Cut to the precise measurements of a client’s body and created from patterns unique to each client, owners of Isabel Glanville trousers have a garment that is theirs and theirs alone.
The bespoke process is a deeply exclusive and luxurious sequence of consultations and collaborations. The finished piece reflects exactly the client’s needs, accurately expressing a personal identity and providing the backbone for a thoughtful and reliable capsule wardrobe.
Consultation
The initial meeting will cover a discussion of precisely what you want and need from your bespoke pieces. Hundreds of cloth options will be reviewed in order to choose the ideal fabric for your garments, your measurements will be taken and any further design details you might have in mind will be considered.
A cutter will use your measurements to create a pattern which is entirely bespoke, and uses this pattern to ‘strike’ the cloth, tracing the pattern in tailors chalk on the fabric and adding extra ‘inlays’ to accommodate alterations in the future.
Fittings
Two to four weeks from your consultation, a ‘baste’ fitting will be ready. Trying on a simple skeleton of the trousers allows for adjustments needed to ensure the perfect fit. The baste is then taken apart, re-marked and re-sewn for a second fitting two weeks later. The pattern is then updated to reflect amendments which ensures a swift make for the next order.
Finishing and the final fitting
In the final stages, the piece is meticulously hand-finished inside and out, using silk threads for topstitching and hand sewn buttonholes. The garment is then pressed by a specialist presser to ensure the fabric is pristine and the shape is retained.
Bespoke trousers can then be altered over the years to accommodate a client’s changing body, meaning they provide a lifetime of style in the truest sense.
